Those dark streaks on roofs are more than merely ugly; they are destructive.  They are black algae that, along with other contaminates, reduces the lifespan of roof shingles.

Specifically, black algae, known as Gloeocapsa Magma, eats limestone ... a major ingredient in roof shingles today.  In most cases, this condition occurs on the north side of roofs.  This consumption process loosens the shingle granules as it eats to the core of each shingle.  So it stands to reason, the sooner the black algae is destroyed and removed, the better.

Black algae spreads through neighborhoods in the air; affecting the air quality in the entire neighborhood.  Once one house is affected, it won't be long before others in the area are likewise infected.

Roof shingles are manufactured to perform in a certain manner to not only protect and insulate the home, but regulate themselves.  When that performance is undermined, the longevity of the roof is compromised, water flow over the surface is adversely affected and other contaminants, such as mold, algae and moss are allowed to flourish.

A roof with this condition may be considered poorly-maintained by insurance companies.  This could have an adverse affect on any insurance claims a homeowner may submit.

Most roofs either have algae or will have it.   We urge homeowners, when they see the problem pop up in their neighborhood or on their roofs, to take swift action to save money.  We have a custom maintenance program that will prevent a roof from ever becoming infected.

Black algae and other contaminates have already cost homeowners millions of dollars in unnecessary roof replacements.  A 25-year shingle can last as little as 10 years with this condition ... costing the homeowner thousands of dollars long before it is necessary.

Every day huge amounts of smog, dirt, algae and air pollution are deposited on our homes. Oily carbon compounds from automobiles, coal plants, jet exhaust and even lawn mowers stick to shingles and form multiple layers of destructive grime.  All further affecting the performance of a roof shingle.

A proper roof cleaning by HouseSaverZ removes all these contaminates.
